I wasn't 100% sure what to expect but I found the Flower Power Cruise experience delightful. Though, I was exhausted after multiple 16-hour days of non-stop activity. Musical performances, game shows, and educational presentations were available non-stop through the 5 p.m. Day and night, I also saw a lot of tie-dye, a pattern I've discovered is not a fad or a costume — it's a standard part of the hippie wardrobe on or off the cruise.

Though I was a toddler when most of the music I heard throughout the cruise first appeared on the airwaves, I'm still an old-soul hippie. It seemed that half of the cruisers would attend the early show and the other half would eat early. Afterward, the early-show people would get dinner while early diners attended the nightly show. I was delighted that the cruise featured the artists and music most guests grew up with. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed staying on a lower deck and even secured the same stateroom for next year's Flower Power Cruise. Though we usually prefer to stay on higher decks, our room's location actually made getting to the nightly concerts easy.
